The Practical Future Scholarship
At Heuser & Heuser, LLP, we believe that continuing education or joining the military creates smarter, more capable, and more disciplined members of our society which, in turn, aids the community at large. However, we understand that finances can play a big role in whether or not a young person gets the opportunity to pursue trade school, or join the military.
That’s why our firm decided to create the Practical Future Scholarship. While education does come with a price, we strongly believe that every person should have the chance to better themselves. We want to help provide that chance by awarding up to $3,000 in scholarships to three Southern Colorado residents who will be enlisting in the military or attending a trade school.
SUBMISSION INFORMATION
Overview
- Launch Date: March 10, 2025
- Submission Deadline: June 21, 2025
Eligibility:
- Open to all individuals residing in Southern Colorado (South of Denver).
- Candidates must provide proof of enlistment in the military (signed contract, pending basic training) or acceptance/enrollment in a trade school (including individuals already enrolled).
Scholarship Awards:
- 1st Place: $3,000
- 2nd Place: $2,000
- 3rd Place: $1,000
Submission Requirements:
We seek authentic, practical submissions clearly outlining how your decision to pursue a trade or military enlistment will strategically support and advance your future career and life goals.
- Submissions must be individual efforts; authenticity is essential.
- Accepted formats include essays, PowerPoint presentations, detailed outlines, and videos. You may submit multiple formats within one application.
- There are no length limitations, but clarity, practicality, and conciseness are highly valued.
- Submissions must be original and not AI-generated. AI screening will be conducted.
- Scholarships will be awarded based solely on the quality, practicality, and clarity of your plan. Writing ability is not judged; the emphasis is on strategic long-term practical planning.
- Email submissions to scholarship@heuserlaw.com by Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Use of Funds:
- Scholarship funds will be awarded directly to the winners without any conditions on usage.
Winner Announcement:
- Winners will be notified no later than July 7, 2025.
- A meet-and-greet will be scheduled with scholarship winners by August 1, 2025, for photos and interviews.
