91-Year-Old Woman Dies After Suffering Injuries from Crash

Alberta Lou Davis, 91-years-old, died, days after a devastating accident. Davis was traveling in a van on North Union Boulevard at Austin Bluffs Parkway when she crossed the eastbound turn lane of the southbound Union Boulevard, according to KKTV 11. She collided into a Ford truck and was transported to the hospital where she later died due to her injuries. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.

The accident is currently under investigation.

Woman Arrested for Vehicular Assault

Abagail Barta, 22-years-old, was arrested for vehicular assault after an accident that occurred close to the intersection of Chestnut and Garden of the Gods Road. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), Barta may have been driving under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred. The passenger in the car Barta was driving suffered injuries.

Weather Conditions Caused Multiple Accidents on I-25 Close to Woodmen

Weather conditions caused heavy traffic and major delays on I-25, leading to numerous accidents. The first crash occurred at 6:45 a.m. and blocked the northbound lanes of Voyager Parkway at Research Parkway. The second accident happened on southbound Tutt Boulevard, north of Stetson Hills Boulevard when a vehicle hit a tree. There were other drivers who also crashed on 1-25 due to inclement weather.

Pedestrian Accident in Colorado Springs Caused Serious Injuries

An accident at the intersection of Pace Drive and South Academy Boulevard left one woman with serious injuries. The woman was using a crosswalk at the time of the accident, which went against the flow of traffic. According to KOAA News 5, “A vehicle struck the woman, then side-swiped another vehicle, leading to a three-vehicle accident.”

The driver ran away from the scene. Based on witness statements, the pedestrian did not have the right of way.

A Major Crash Involving 100 Cars on I-25 Due to Bomb Cyclone

A recent bomb cyclone led to numerous collisions on I-25. Coloradoan reported, “The crashes involved rear-end collisions, vehicles sliding off the road, and some vehicles were struck multiple times, according to CSP trooper Paul Dirkes.”

Injuries did occur and ranged from minor to severe. Thankfully, there were no fatalities.
