As a Colorado Springs native, Gordon has been practicing in Southern Colorado for 31 years. He has handled thousands of personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. He has argued cases in front of the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court.

Gordon is an avid runner and has participated in numerous races throughout the central states including the Boston marathon. He loves to hike in the mountains and especially likes to “bag 14-ers” (climb those mountains over 14,000 feet). He enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Barkley Heuser, Attorney

Barkley Heuser is a Colorado native, and has lived in Colorado Springs for over 59 years. He has three brothers, one of whom is his partner, and one sister. He’s practiced law for 42 years in his hometown.
Barkley believes in giving straight-forward advice to his clients and not hiding the truth under a barrage of fancy legal terms. Working with a client who really understands the pros and cons of his case makes Barkley feel he is doing his job. He enjoys helping injured people and solving their problems.
Barkley and his wife are active in their church. His other interests include: reading, walking, kayaking and playing with his two wiener dogs, Bob and Izzy.
Doug Price, Attorney
Doug has lived in Colorado Springs since 1983. He brings thirty plus years of litigation experience to the firm, having previously served as a Fourth Judicial deputy district attorney and as a private practitioner. He has tried hundreds of criminal and civil cases in state and federal court. In his spare time Doug enjoys working on his vintage cars and spending time at his family’s mountain cabin. He and his wife Michele, also an attorney, are the proud parents of two adult sons.

Patrick R. Salt, Attorney

Mr. Salt has resided in Colorado Springs since 1969 when his military-based family relocated to Colorado Springs. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his law degree from Pepperdine Law School. Prior to law school, Pat taught and coached at local high schools.
For the past 33 years, Pat has been an active attorney, trying cases in various counties throughout Colorado. He is also privileged to serve as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Colorado Springs. Mr. Salt has represented the El Paso County Bar Association as a Trustee and been elected to the Board of Governors to the Colorado Bar Association.
Outside of the legal realm, Pat enjoys spending time with his family and participating in sporting activities, particularly golf. Pat has been a youth basketball coach as well as Club Scout leader, he is an Eagle Scout. The Salt family has a passion for giving back to the community. Pat’s wife formerly served as the CEO of Easter Seals of Southern Colorado and Pat’s father was an El Paso County Commissioner for six years. Currently, Pat is on the Board of Directors for the Air Academy School District 20 Foundation, which provides scholarships for high school students and grants for educators.
Recently, Mr. Salt has been acknowledged by his peers as a “Top Lawyer” for 2015 in the Colorado Springs Style Magazine. His legal expertise has led him to be rated by Martindale Hubbell, through evaluations of lawyers and members of the U.S and Canadian bar and judiciary, as an A+ attorney for his high ethical standards and professional ability. Pat has received a similar rating for his work as a Judge.
Carla Augenstein, Paralegal
Carla Augenstein brings 30 years of experience in the legal field, 23 of which she has been an esteemed paralegal at Heuser & Heuser. She first worked in a personal injury law firm in Beverly Hills, CA, before moving her family to Colorado to raise her two children, Katie and Collin.
Carla serves as the workers’ compensation paralegal at Heuser & Heuser. She works closely with clients from the case opening to the case resolution. She manages all case aspects, ensuring that each client receives the individual attention he or she deserves. Carla has a keen attention to detail and the ability to resolve difficult issues. She enjoys working with people and regularly contacts adjusters, medical offices, and attorneys during her efforts to help clients.
When not at work, Carla enjoys working out, riding her bike, and just about any kind of physical activity. She has four grandchildren with whom she spends time as often as she can. She also has two dogs, Indy and Mac who occasionally come to work with her.
Terri Murphy, Paralegal
Terri Murphy is a paralegal who joined our firm in January 2009, bringing 10 years of legal experience in personal injury. She works closely with clients throughout the process of getting them back on the road to recovery. She enjoys interacting with clients and going the “extra mile” to assist each one in resolving their case.
When not at work, Terri enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike and their three daughters, Sarah, Hunter, and Mackenzie. She is an avid Broncos fan and never misses a game.
Jean Astbury, Paralegal
Jean has been in the legal field since 2001. Prior to her career at Heuser & Heuser, she worked with an insurance defense firm for twelve years. She enjoys all aspects of legal work and is thrilled to be working on the Plaintiff’s side. She continues to take Paralegal courses to broaden her knowledge and enhance her skills.
Outside the office, she spends her spare time with her three daughters and grandson. Most weekends you can find her hiking the Manitou Incline.
Lori Baumert, Paralegal
Lori joins the Heuser & Heuser personal injury team with more than 8 years experience in personal injury. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a paralegal certificate to go along with it. She enjoys this field and the paperwork that goes hand in hand with personal injury cases. Helping people is her passion.
In her free time, she loves to take adventures and travel with her husband Matt and their daughter Kaitlin. Lori enjoys all sports, but softball, volleyball, golf and bowling are her favorites to play. She also enjoys photography, bridges, water slides and being outdoors.
