A collision at a Pueblo intersection on Friday, July 17, injured three individuals, according to the Pueblo Chieftain. The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. close to where East 4th Street and North Portland Avenue intersect, on the city’s east side.
Local law enforcement said a white car traveling at allegedly high speeds was eastbound on 4th Street when it swerved into the westbound lane and hit a brown truck head-on.
Three People Taken to Hospitals
The adult male driving the white car and a 3-year-old child riding in the back seat both suffered injuries. Emergency personnel took both to a local hospital. The only person in the brown truck was the adult male driver. Emergency personnel also transported him to the hospital. Information about the nature of the injuries was not unavailable.
Local police continue to investigate the two-vehicle accident with injuries, although authorities do not suspect either drug or alcohol involvement.
Although the investigation into this Pueblo crash is in its earliest stages, it is possible for people injured by negligent conduct on the state’s roadways to seek compensation via civil litigation. In some cases, the courts consider operating a vehicle at excessive speed evidence of negligence. They often seek monetary damages for unpaid medical bills, pain-and-suffering and lost wages.
