Heuser & Heuser Renews Sponsorship of 2025 Southern Colorado Kidney Walk

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — On September 28, 2025, Heuser & Heuser, LLP proudly renewed its annual sponsorship of the Southern Colorado Kidney Walk, joining hundreds of community members at Memorial Park to support the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Colorado & New Mexico. The event marked another year of partnership between the firm and the NKF, continuing a tradition deeply rooted in advocacy, community service, and personal connection.
As an annual sponsor of the Kidney Walk, Heuser & Heuser’s team and partners joined the 5K walk/run, hosted an informational booth, and connected with families, survivors, and supporters from across Southern Colorado. This year, co-founder Gordon Heuser also served as a featured event speaker, sharing his story with attendees and emphasizing the importance of early detection, organ donation, and ongoing support for families affected by kidney disease.
For Gordon, the cause is deeply personal as a kidney transplant recipient. “The Kidney Walk reminds us that no one faces kidney disease alone,” said Gordon. “I’m here today because of the gift my brother gave me many years ago. Supporting this cause is our way of honoring every patient, every family member, and every act of generosity that makes recovery possible.”
Partner Brennan Heuser, whose military and public service background shapes his commitment to community leadership, emphasized the importance of showing up for Southern Colorado families. “Our firm is built on service to our clients and to our community,” Brennan shared. “The Kidney Walk is a reminder that small acts of support can make a big difference for families navigating overwhelming challenges. We’re honored to stand with the NKF year after year.”
Partner Shannon Colt, who began her career with the firm as a legal assistant before becoming an attorney and partner, reflected on how events like the Kidney Walk strengthen community connection. “Southern Colorado shows up for one another in incredible ways,” said Shannon. “Walking alongside survivors, caregivers, and medical professionals is inspiring. It reminds us why community involvement matters just as much as the work we do inside the office.”
This year’s walk continued the strong momentum built in previous years. According to the National Kidney Foundation, the event draws hundreds of participants annually and serves as one of the region’s key fundraisers in support of the more than 37 million Americans living with kidney disease.
Team Heuser made a strong impact again this year, raising $3,550 to support the National Kidney Foundation’s mission of providing education, early detection resources, patient support, and community outreach across Southern Colorado.
As Southern Colorado continues to grow, the firm is committed to amplifying its community engagement efforts, especially with causes related to health, safety, and family well-being.
“Our mission has always been to serve our neighbors with honesty, integrity, and compassion,” Gordon added. “We intend to support the Kidney Walk for many years to come.”
The Southern Colorado Kidney Walk remains a powerful symbol of resilience and unity — a day when families, businesses, and community leaders come together to champion kidney health. Heuser & Heuser looks forward to continuing its partnership with the National Kidney Foundation and supporting the mission to improve the lives of kidney patients across the region.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Know What My Injury Case Is Worth in Colorado Springs?
There are a variety of things we look at when evaluating your case and determining its value.
We look at how the accident occurred: How did someone else’s carelessness lead to the accident? Did your actions also contribute to the crash?
We also look at what sort of injuries you sustained: Do you have a permanent injury that will last the rest of your life? Are you going to have future medical bills?
We look at lost wages: Did you lose your job? If you have permanent work restrictions due to the accident, you may not be able to find a job very easily in the future.
These are only some of the factors that we look at in evaluating a claim. You may have additional losses to account for in a claim, and sometimes additional evidence or expert witnesses will be needed to support an evaluation.
At Heuser & Heuser, LLP, we can identify those factors during a free case evaluation, during which you tell us your story so we can take the first step in building a legal strategy at no financial risk to you.
